I had no idea it was reformulated, but I wasn't a fan of the juice. Now I own two 100ml vintage bottles, and am guarding them with my life. The OG is incredible, absolutely stunning. Such a shame that perfumes have to be "dumbed down" or tamed. Seems like all forms of art are headed down this path of mediocrity. I just wanted to thank you (and all the people who added tips and experiences in the comments), today I received a large vintage Baccarat bottle of Shalimar, the stopper was advertised as stuck. It seemed indeed glued on! But I could smell the fragrance through the cap and a few drops had leaked during transport. I first tried to wrap the stopper/neck junction in tissue paper drenched in modern Shalimar edp. After about 15/30 mins I went to check on the bottle, ready to clean it, apply oil and refrigerate, but like magic! As I tried to unscrew the cap it came off quite easily! I promptly cleaned bottle neck & stopper and voilĂ . I am now the proud owner of about 4oz of wonderful, otherwordly vintage extrait. Now, dating the bottle isn't so easy but my guess is 1950s :)Giuliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01759583862785498704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5970730377860494514.post-53422157349221460832020-04-10T10:49:02.119+02:002020-04-10T10:49:02.119+02:00i am in love at that aorange atomiser

I prefer these to linen, which may be more elegant. There are no end of uses for them, and very literally, I never leave home without one, and, if truth be told, I am never in home without one conveniently in pocket. Scenting them, I have found, is performed most effectively using a light spray to moisten them, insisting on the hand rolls, which tend to keep the scent better than the body itself. While I don't use a handkerchief to tend to my nose, if I can help it, I definitely use them for my eyes and lips: It is best never to touch your eyes to itch them, never to touch your lips, and really never to touch your face: Here is where our always present handkerchieves come in, and when they waft a lovely aroma, well, then the pleasure is compounded. Gentlemen I urge you all to reconnect with this practice: Just make sure you wash and dry them several times before and of course, after use, and who knows? There very well could be a Demoiselle, or another Monsieur for that matter, waiting in the wings for whom your offering a deliciously scented kerchief just may do the trick. The gesture is sure to be noticed, and remembered for that I can vouch!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08359384667559685262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5970730377860494514.post-9346903359926076932019-11-04T01:04:48.318+01:002019-11-04T01:04:48.318+01:00Anonymous: Everyone's *favourite* moderator St...Anonymous: Everyone's *favourite* moderator Stugi had me turfed out for "airing moderator grievances". There is a comment by Kathy Garrison that says she uses an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and this works every time. Another perfume collector said this as well. But, I don't know what fluid to put in an ultrasonic cleaner that would not harm delicate paper labels, for instance, Replique has a hand-lettered paper label. Could you still use an ultrasonic cleaner, but maybe dry? If anyone knows anything about this method, I would love to hear about it. Please. It is so interesting how we arrive where we are now, the past plays quite a big part in it. My start was a wooden toy shop which my grandad had made for me, it had lots of small boxes and the like, I went to stay with my aunt and spied a small Coty perfume which instantly I fell in love with and was given it, all the boxes and cardboard was disposed of and no one who had perfume bottles was safe. Here I am today with the love of a small 7 year old still living with the adult.
